This piece, Sunset Droplets, was an exciting and experimental departure from
my usual work. Using acrylic pour techniques, I explored the fluid and
unpredictable nature of paint, allowing it to form intricate, organic patterns
on the canvas.
At a microscopic level, this Algarve original
art reveals a cellular matrix of droplets on a windowpane, capturing the
diffraction of a sunset’s glow. I wanted to create a sense of warmth and
fluidity, where the movement of colour feels both spontaneous and energetic,
suggesting motion within the stillness.
The palette is rich with purples and pinks, immersed in delicate white lacelike effects that weave together like a molecular network. These biomorphic, featherlike patterns, common in pour painting or fluid art, emerge naturally through the process, making each detail unique and unrepeatable.
As an Algarve artist, I love experimenting with different techniques, and this piece embodies the beauty of letting go and allowing art to take its own form. The result is an abstract yet deeply evocative painting that reflects both the randomness and harmony found in nature.
