As an Algarve artist, I wanted to capture the vibrancy and movement of this hillside town, letting the winding street pull the viewers eye into the distance. The perspective creates a sense of depth, drawing you along the sloping road, almost as if you’re walking through the scene yourself. I used warm pastel shades of reds, yellows, and blues to bring the buildings to life, giving them a slightly abstract quality with expressive brushstrokes that add energy and texture. The tall, narrow structures on either side frame the composition, leading the eye towards a dreamy, sunlit horizon. The solitary figure and a few scattered cars introduce a human element, grounding the piece in the rhythm of a daily life in this picturesque town of Monchique. Through the soft blending of colors and the play of light and shadow I aim to create warm, inviting atmosphere – one that reminds me of the charm and character of Mediterranean or Latin American villages.

As an artist painting Algarve landscapes, I strive to capture the regions unique beauty and essence. I signed and dated this piece upon its completion in 2020, marking it as an Algarve original art creation.
